Day 2 in Mazatlan
You may think the US dollar has lots of buying power in Mexico... Well you're wrong... Or at least in Mazatlan... So after our 1st night having spent close to $50 on Dominos pizza and wings I decided we would be broke in no time if we didn't buy some grocery's.. So the next morning we all took what felt like a "field trip" to the grocery store. I was sure me being the "queen of thrift" could get serious bang for my buck... but instead I almost cried when I found out the price for a gallon of milk was 40 pesos! (That's just a little less then $4 US dollars). Honestly I don't know how you can live out there and survive... On average most are paid only 100 pesos a day (about $10 US dollars)! OK so after the horror of shopping with out any coupons we finally made our way out. Later that day we went to a popular beach "Cerritos". The kids did some swimming, I took photos of my nieces and Oscar and his brother did some fishing... or attempted to... See down in Mexico you don't go fishing with lures and so everyone stared at them like they were crazy for using plastic fish! Needless to say they didn't catch a single fish... While the locals were fishing with plastic bottles and fishing line (they were using live bait) and catching some nice size fish! This made Oscar a little upset since he had expensive fishing gear and caught nothing! This also made him extremely determined to try again... with live bait... but I will have to save that story for another post... ;o)
Oscar's favorite bread... Bimbo....Very poular here...

Ramen Noodles...Also very popular...Have you ever seen this much ramen?!
